Planetary Hours — Ingrāj Bāzār

Ancient Babylonian and Hellenistic astronomers divided each day and night into twelve equal planetary hours (Hora). The seven classical planets are assigned in the Chaldean order starting from the day's ruling planet at sunrise. After cycling through 24 Horas, the chain naturally advances so that each new weekday inherits its planetary identity — Wednesday's (Budh Vara's) first hour is Mercury, Thursday's is Jupiter, and so on in an unbroken sequence across centuries.

Among Vedic Muhurta practitioners the first Hora of the day — ruled by the weekday's planet — is most potent. For other tasks: Sun and Jupiter hours support auspicious, public-facing activity; Venus and Mercury hours are excellent for intellectual and creative work; Moon hours benefit family and emotional matters; Rahu, Mars, and Saturn hours are used cautiously for new ventures, though Mars is productive for physical and technical work.
