Nalla Neram Today

Tamil tradition auspicious times: Nalla Neram (morning & afternoon), Gulika Kalam, and Yamagandam. Each calculated from your city's own sunrise.

What is Nalla Neram?

Nalla Neram (நல்ல நேரம்) means "auspicious time" in Tamil. It refers to two daily windows — a morning slot and an afternoon slot — when new ventures, important conversations, travel, and ceremonies are considered especially favourable. The tradition is particularly observed by Tamil Hindu communities.

Each Nalla Neram page also shows Gulika Kalam (a moderately inauspicious period) and Yamagandam (a mildly inauspicious slot), so you can plan around all three. All timings are calculated from each city's precise astronomical sunrise.
