Choghadiya Today
All seven Choghadiya muhurtas — Amrit, Shubh, Labh, Char, Udveg, Kaal, Rog — calculated from your city's own sunrise and sunset.
What is Choghadiya?
Choghadiya (चौघड़िया) divides each day and night into eight equal segments, assigning an auspicious or inauspicious quality to each. The name comes from "chau" (four) and "ghadiya" (a time unit of roughly 24 minutes), though in practice each slot spans roughly 90 minutes of daytime or nighttime.
The seven Choghadiya types cycle throughout the day: Amrit (best — all work), Shubh (auspicious — ceremonies, journeys), Labh (profitable — business), Char (moveable — travel), Udveg (government work only), Kaal (wealth accumulation only), and Rog (avoid).
All calculations on this site are based on each city's precise astronomical sunrise and sunset, so the timings are accurate for your location — not a generic India-wide estimate.
