About Magha
માઘ (Magha) is the winter pilgrimage month and, in every 12th year, the month of the grand Kumbha Mela—the world's largest religious gathering. Magha Pournami is one of Hinduism's holiest bathing days; millions flock to sacred rivers. Basant Panchami celebrates spring's arrival and Saraswati Puja. The month (Aquarius) represents innovation, liberation, and intellectual freedom. Diaspora Gujaratis often travel to Prayag or Varanasi during Magha Pournami for pilgrimage, or participate in Basant Panchami celebrations at temples.
