About September
September is the ninth month of the Gregorian calendar, with 30 days. Its name derives from the Latin septem (seven), as it was the seventh month of the original Roman calendar. The Autumn Equinox falls around September 22–23. September often hosts Ganesh Chaturthi (the 10-day elephant-god festival), Onam, and in some years Navaratri. It is the end of the monsoon season in India. For photographers, September's equinox provides precise east-west sunrise/sunset alignment, perfect for foreground framing. The period between Ganesh Chaturthi and Diwali is considered highly auspicious for business.
