About July
July is the seventh month of the Gregorian calendar, with 31 days. Named after Julius Caesar (born July 12, 100 BCE). July is peak monsoon season in India. Guru Purnima — the full moon of Ashadha — is one of the most revered days for teachers, making it an important date for Indian educational and spiritual communities. Karka Sankranti (around July 16) marks the sun entering Cancer, beginning the Dakshinayana period (southward solar journey) of the Hindu calendar, which lasts until December. The Dakshinayana period is less auspicious for certain rituals.
